Building design with a personal, practical approach.

Hana Design is a building design practice based in Dubbo and working across NSW, bringing more than 18 years of experience to building design, documentation and approvals. Each project is approached with thoughtful design, clear communication and practical guidance from the first ideas onward.

The Designer Behind Hana Design

Ben, building designer at Hana Design

Ben is the building designer behind Hana Design and remains closely involved in each project, from the first conversation through design, documentation and applications. This continuity allows the ideas, priorities and decisions discussed early on to carry through into the completed work.

Projects can begin with a detailed brief or with an idea that still needs to be worked through. Hana Design takes the time to understand what the client wants to achieve, explain what is needed and develop a clear, practical way forward.

Ben began his career with an established building designer in 2008, developing a practical grounding in residential design and documentation. In 2013, he joined an architectural practice, where his experience broadened across design, documentation, approvals and a wider range of projects.

In 2014, Ben began working directly with his own clients alongside his practice work. What began with a small number of projects developed over time into the independent business that now operates as Hana Design. Based in Dubbo, Ben works with clients across NSW while retaining strong connections to the Southern Highlands, with project experience spanning Dubbo, Orange, Sydney, Melbourne and surrounding areas.

What It’s Like to Work With Hana Design

Working directly with the person responsible for the design and documentation gives each project continuity from the early decisions through approvals and later stages of the work.

Direct Involvement

Clients work directly with Ben throughout the project, providing a consistent point of contact from the early discussions through design, documentation and approvals.

Clear Guidance

Requirements, consultant input and approval pathways are explained as they arise, helping clients understand what is needed, what decisions matter and what comes next.

Continuity

The ideas, priorities and decisions established early in the project are carried through into the drawings and later stages rather than being handed between different people.

Practical Thinking

Design decisions are considered alongside the site, planning requirements, construction and the realities of the project so that the outcome works beyond the drawing itself.
